"Pick Your Poison": Presley Tennant's Lesson on Love
California-native and powerful vocalist Presley Tennant has picked up her pen once more to give her listeners some much-needed advice in her newest single, "Pick Your Poison", released October 11.
The new song is a perfect follow up to Tennant's most recent release, "Bad Decisions", which dropped in early August. She was also featured on "If It Was Easy", a collaboration with fellow singer-songwriter Noah West, which released on August 30.

"Pick Your Poison" is a fiery ballad, reminiscent of young Carrie Underwood (circa "Before He Cheats"). It's passionate and vengeful, written with an air of caution and warning. The singer sets the scene early, beginning the song by saying "It'll feel hotter than a neon night in El Paso/It'll rope you in 'cross the room ". The imagery evoked by Tennant is crystal clear, placing listeners right in the middle of the tragic love story.
What is so intruiging about "Pick Your Poison" is how Tennant is able to encapsulate universal experiences in just a few minutes. Let's face it: we've all willingly surrounded ourselves with people that we know aren't good for us, and Tennant is no exception. Painfully, she recounts an experience all-too familiar to her listeners, singing "It won't be long 'till you're wondering/where the hell he's been/He'll say he's busy but you haven't got a call all weekend/And he'll be coming home smelling like somebody else."
Tennant's ultimate message? Think twice before picking your poison.
