Payton Howie Releases ‘Most Personal’ Song Yet

“'Jail and Jesus' is by far one of the most personal songs I’ve ever released and definitely one of the tracks I’m most proud of,” says Howie.

Payton Howie wrestles with honest truth that even the best of people have the ability to do the worst things in new single, “Jail and Jesus.” Howie uses the imagery of an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other to illustrate the human condition.

Howie’s complex storytelling has remained one of her greatest strengths which she uses to create impactful lyrics that strike us at the core. “Some of the greatest country songs of all time have a ‘storytelling’ aspect that grips you and that’s something I wanted to incorporate.” reveals Howie.

"Jail and Jesus" can now be streamed on all digital platforms. For more on Payton Howie and to view Youngblood Tour dates, visit www.paytonhowie.com and follow her on social media @paytonhowiemusic.

About Payton Howie:

With backwoods bathed vocals and bona fide southern swagger, Payton Howie is leading the next generation of redneck women. Branded as the ultimate ‘All American Girl’ by Scenes Media, Howie unapologetically embodies the untamed tradition that country music was built on, and she’s hellbent on bringing her own grit to the honky tonk.

Not many can say they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Carrie Underwood, and Howie is one of even fewer who can say they were handpicked to do so at the age of 5; while other kids were learning how to ride a bike, she was teaching people to expect the unexpected whenever they hear the name Payton Howie.

Her music has been highlighted by leaders in the industry, including “Never Go Home” featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Country: Best of 2021 and Country Rock playlists, and “Country Before Me” featured by COWGIRL Magazine and CMT. With stellar reception on her debut EP, ‘Youngblood’ - released February 18 - Payton Howie is prepared to scorch country music with a brand that’s hers alone.
