Matt Oakley Shares His Burning Passion in "Fire and Water"

Country artist Matt Oakley is back and brighter than ever in his newest single, "Fire and Water", available everywhere on January 17.

"Fire and Water" follows Oakley's latest release, "Party On 95", a lighthearted tune made for roadtrips, backyard bonfires, and spending time with the people you care about. Reminiscing on his time traveling up and down 95 with friends and family, Oakley comments that the song is a "roadtrip anthem...about all the times me and my buddies packed up the trick to hit Florida for spring break. The song is about not waiting until you get to your location to start the party."

Switching gears from his time in the sun, Oakley's "Fire and Water" is a deeply personal story about the trials and tribulations of falling in love with someone who is completely different from you. Between ghosts from the past and skeletons in the closet, opening oneself up to love again is incredibly difficult, but well worth it. Oakley sings, "Back then I was in love/with chaos and danger/And you fell from above/Thanks to my maker/She's all that I needed/That old me retreated/I found a brand new piece of mind."

It appears as if Oakley's sweetheart has saved him from himself, a powerful testament to what it means to grow and change as a result of love.
